Folio Friday – June

Folio Friday is an opportunity for us to share some of the amazing artwork found within The Minton Archive’s folios with you. On the first Friday of every month we pick out a special piece of artwork from the Minton company catalogue’s Art & Design section and highlight it here on the blog; for the last four Folio Fridays we’ve also included an extra gallery of daily folio highlights originally posted to Twitter under our special “Folio Frivolity” banner…

SD 1705/MS1769

[Class letter J]. No folio number. Armorials, crests and ornaments: mainly mounted engravings and prints: some tracings; many coloured; occasional manuscript notes in Herbert Minton’s hand. Included are loose enclosures in the form of photographs of naval and other crests, etc. 1 loose-leaf book; disbound; part possibly missing; top leaf has title; “Recueil d’Ornemens et d’Armoiries”

Below you’ll also find the latest gallery of highlights first seen on Twitter @MintonArchive as part of our ongoing Folio Frivolity project, a daily showcase of details from the Archive’s Art & Design folios. After a hefty three-week catch-up last time round we’re back to our more usual fortnight’s worth of images – we hope you enjoy them 🙂
