Description: MS1798 has been divided for ease of handling into 12 folders. The numbered PP sequence ends at 83, the same endpoint as in MS1234, the Art Catalogue of 1871. There are an additional 66 items with no PP number. Amongst the these are a number of designs for fountains, of which only one is annotated Persian, the others are classical in inspiration and one design was drawn for a competition entry through Musgrave of Belfast and dated 5 May 1891. One drawing of a 'hispano-mauresque salver at South Kensington' is initialled e.g.r. and dated 25 Jan 1885. Possibly attributable to Edmond George Reuter. A further group of 17 items comprises a numbered sequence of 12 square designs of stylised flowers and foliage, in which those printed and left uncoloured have been stamped with folio 29 while those coloured (the majority have been stamped with folio 33 and the letter code CCCC7 written on). This correlates with a gap in the sequencing of MS1703, where other CCCC material is held . Total number of items is now 164, 7 fewer than when listed in 1970. Description added to catalogue 28 Feb 2018.
