Folio Friday – February

Folio Friday is an opportunity for us to share some of the amazing artwork found within The Minton Archive’s folios with you, and the series is now two years old! To celebrate we’re once again returning to our very first highlighted folio to pick out another artwork for this ongoing series… but this time with a bit of a twist.

Folio Friday has always been about zooming in on the details that are easily missed – or are even invisible – in the images we use on our online catalogue. Our previous instalments have selected beautiful details and isolated them with close-ups but some designs simply don’t suit that method of presentation. We’re therefore hoping that our latest blog feature will solve that problem and take “zooming in” to a whole new level. (Is… is that a pun?)

And so whilst the image below might look like a normal Folio Friday image without the usual close-up thumbnails it’s actually super-hi-res and fully zoomable so you can discover all the hidden details for yourselves!

Imagine it’s a Google Map and you won’t go far wrong – zoom in and out with your mouse’s scroll wheel or by using the on-screen controls (they appear when you mouse-over) and click and drag the image to move it around. On touch-enabled devices you can drag the image with your finger and pinch to zoom.
