- Description: Designs are numbered 1 to 250 (duplicates of nos. 1 to 250 in item 1583 in this catalogue), with 6 unnumbered at end. Pencilled marginalia, etc, include a flyleaf signature "C.M. Campbell", and in a much later hand "Before Sept. 1840". Other comments include, on design no. 10 (Hebe vase): "Supplied in biscuit; see letter to Mrs. Bedford, Birmingham, dated July 8, 1837, Minton & Boyle" (see SD/MS 1170, item 39). After design no. 181, there is: "I have lost here blockhead like three numbers namely 178 Matchpot, 179 Pentray and 180 Triple Inkstand, the drawings of which are not entered in the other Book".
The drawings are finely executed in either wash or pen-and-ink; some titling is in faded and fading pencil. Paper watermarked 1832.
Volume re-bound; some leaves loose and brittle; titled on spine in gilt: "Ornaments 1, 1-250".
