Catalogue Updates: Highlights & Images

It’s time for a quick refresh of the site’s online catalogue, our first of 2018! We’ve updated 47 records and uploaded 105 new images, increasing the total number of highlighted records across our various themed searches to 214. As an example, having recently completed our digitisation work on three mid-century folios you’ll find updated and alphabetised pattern name listings with images for SD 1705/MS1918, MS1918A and MS1932. Enjoy!

Mid-century Minton Mythology

When we began to digitise the contents of three mid-20th century folios in the collection we didn’t expect to end up plotting patterns onto maps or creating galleries of plant-inspired designs – that’s what happens when the themes running through the pattern names are just too obvious to ignore! We were therefore rather excited to see where the final folio might take us, but at first glance there didn’t seem to be any strong naming conventions at all…
